PHA6 presentation and promises

According to the official website, PHA6 is a “new natural formula, developed by a leading French laboratory….elle modifie l’effet des calories et fait mincir”.

This formula is made up of fruit enzymes, “which could dissolve up to 900 times their weight in fat…and force the body to eliminate excess fat and slim down, even if you eat too much”.

Promising, isn’t it?

A natural supplement that allows you to let go, to overeat, but still lose weight.

Let’s summarize all the benefits of PHA6 according to its manufacturer:

• Changes metabolic memory;
• Is released gradually into the body thanks to a special design;
• 1 tablet = the quantity of sweet acids equivalent to 4kg of fruit;
• Eliminates cravings ;
• Burns fat naturally ;
• Is the only lipolyser containing polyhydroxy acids and fruit enzymes;
• Is 100% natural, with pure tropical fruit extracts;
• Is manufactured by an Ecocert and ISO 9001-certified French laboratory.

Unfortunately, instead of charming us with these claims, they actually prompt us to ask some legitimate questions.

Firstly, what does the manufacturer mean when he talks about “changing metabolic memory”?

He’s probably referring to the fact that PHA6 would modify the effect of calories which, instead of making you fat, would actually make you lose weight.

Secondly, what is the specific design that would allow PHA6’s substances to diffuse gradually through the body?

Unfortunately, it has to be said that the manufacturer offers no explanation, leaving us with what are as yet unsubstantiated claims…

The PHA6 manufacturer

The name behind PHA6 is none other than Institut Nutrafit, the same name behind Herbaxyll, a product we recently tested (test which you can consult by following this link HERE).

The company, of French origin, has been selling slimming supplements since 2015.

A brand-new company, therefore, with a long way to go to prove itself in the sector and to gain in reliability.

The Nutri-Bioscience research center mentioned on the website is, legally speaking, a complement to the name of Nutrafit, which is actually a retailer of supplements, not a manufacturing laboratory.

We can therefore legitimately ask a new question: which major French laboratory invented PHA6?

Here again, no information…

PHA6 ingredients

PHA6 is composed of the acids of 6 fruits:

1. Papaya :

Papaya contains catechins, powerful antioxidants also found in green tea.

Catechins significantly activate thermogenesis and fat oxidation.

Papaya also contains a precursor of vitamin A, which reduces the risk of arthrosclerosis and cancer.

Rich in fiber, papaya promotes the sensation of satiety.

2. Tropical mango:

Tropical mango, also known as African mango, is very rich in soluble fiber.

Once in the stomach, these fibers swell to increase satiety, slow transit and reduce the amount of glucose absorbed by the body.

3. Goji :

The goji berry is a small fruit with multiple virtues that comes to us from Asia.

It is recognized for its anti-oxidant and anti-stress energetic properties.

Goji berries are also said to aid digestion and weight loss, prevent deficiencies and reduce sugar cravings.

4. Garcinia Cambogia:

Hydroxycitric acid is the main active agent in garcinia.

Apparently, it stimulates the secretion of serotonin, which plays an essential role in appetite control.

Garcinia is also said to promote fat release and oxidation, and improve carbohydrate metabolism.

5. Noni :

Noni is a fruit with anti-infectious, anti-viral, anti-parasitic and anti-fungal properties.

Applied externally, it treats wounds and injuries.

It is also rich in anti-oxidants.

The manufacturer of PHA6 refers to a certain biochemist, Ralph Heinicke, who claimed that noni facilitates the absorption of the well-being hormone endorphin, which also contributes to appetite control.

Indeed, after research, we found that Ralph Heinicke was a researcher who worked for the Dole Pineapple Company and patented xerotonin, the active ingredient in noni, in 1981.

6. Sea Buckthorn berries:

Sea Buckthorn is a general tonic that stimulates immunity and has powerful anti-oxidant effects.

Sea buckthorn berries have a positive effect on cardiovascular and digestive disorders.

It is extremely rich in vitamin C.

We have reviewed the properties of the 6 fruits included in PHA6, and it is undeniable that they all have potentially positive effects on health in general and weight loss in particular.

But what about the claims that it’s the acids in these same fruits – PHA, polyhydroxy acids – that have a slimming effect on the body?

We researched these fruit acids, and here’s the information we were able to find:
PHAs are progressive kerato-regulators (substances that control the proliferation of keranocytes, the cells at the origin of the skin). They are excellent antioxidants and moisturizers.

On the other hand, there is no evidence that fruit acids have the capacity to promote weight loss, nor to modify caloric pathways, as advertised by the manufacturer.

Scientific studies on PHA6

There are no studies on the combination of ingredients in PHA6 capsules.

The official website does, however, provide a number of links to clinical studies designed to support the product’s promises. To summarize.

The studies on noni are valid and indeed suggest that noni could have a positive effect on weight loss.

One of the studies cited showed weight loss over 12 weeks ranging from 1.4 to 15.4 kg, with an average of 7.7 kg.

The garcinia studies mentioned also have encouraging results, showing a reduction in body weight and “a loss of fat storage as evidenced by a significant decrease in triceps skinfold thickness.”

The study concludes that “on a short-term basis, Garcinia is effective for weight management.”

Next, the link to studies on mango refers to a study on cissus quadrangularis, a medicinal plant widely used in Ayurvedic medicine, but which has nothing to do with tropical mango.

As for the research mentioned on goji, sea buckthorn and papaya, although encouraging, the site clearly fails to mention that it was carried out on rats and mice.

We can therefore conclude that, while these results are promising, they still need to be reproduced and verified on humans before their efficacy can be affirmed.

PHA6 side effects and contraindications

On the face of it, PHA6’s ingredients do not appear to cause any undesirable effects.

Only garcinia may, in rare cases, cause temporary side effects such as headaches, diarrhea and flatulence.

As a precautionary measure, we do not recommend this product – as with all slimming supplements – to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or to anyone under 18.

PHA6 user testimonials

Testimonials found on the web are very contradictory.

Some people say they are satisfied with the product, with a reduction in their appetite, less bloating, and sometimes losses of up to 7kg in 3 weeks.

Other reports are the opposite, to say the least, with people not only failing to lose weight, but putting on weight for no reason at all!

Our opinion on PHA6

Our investigation leads us to reject PHA6.

Even if some of the ingredients seem promising and PHA6’s formula seems innovative, the company’s lack of transparency doesn’t seem reliable enough for us to recommend this product to our readers.
