AONORI SLIM is one of the slimming supplements whose formula is based on the benefits of seaweed, which we’ve already mentioned in a previous article published on our site, and which you can consult by going to HERE.
Traditional uses and research carried out on these marine plants are clear: consuming seaweed can be a positive accompaniment to slimming.
However, to claim that a weight-loss dietary supplement composed mainly of this single algae can help you lose up to 23kg in just 6 weeks is a statement that deserves to be verified in detail. The stakes are so high.
Presentation and promises of Aonori Slim capsules
Aonori Slim is a slimming dietary supplement, formulated with a seaweed that, according to the retailer’s website, “feeds on fat overnight and helps you lose weight without ever depriving yourself of your favorite foods.”
Now that’s a tempting promise!
What’s more, if we are to believe the sales pitches, Aonori Slim has many other advantages, such as:
- No deprivation ;
- No need to exercise;
- Up to 1 kg less unhealthy fat every 16 hours;
- Maintains muscle mass;
- Energy boost;
- Fat-burning effects ;
- Neutralization of stored calories ;
- No feeling of hunger ;
- No more feeling of heaviness ;
- Weight loss in all areas of the body;
- Made in France, 100% natural;
- Visible results from the first three days.
Faced with these spectacular claims, our attitude is clear: we’re going in search of the objective information that will enable us to say whether or not Aonori Slim delivers on its promises.
Who makes Aonori Slim?
First investigative finding: despite all our research, we haven’t been able to find out which laboratory or company manufactures Aonori Slim slimming pills.
The product is available from a reseller in France, France Direct Shop, whose postal address is in Cagnes/mer, but whose head office is actually in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam to be precise.
France Direct Shop was registered, i.e. created, in January 2016, under the business name “vente à distance sur catalog spécialisé”.
A retailer, therefore, that does not display basic information about its product: manufacturer, origin and selection of ingredients, manufacturing process, etc…
On the other hand, and still in the course of our research, we found this alert dated April 14, 2016 and published on a site that calls itself anti-scam network, and which warns against the false promises of this company regarding Aonori Slim. This alert, which can be viewed HERE, comes from an apparently recognized association, an official partner of “UFC que choisir”, a consumer protection organization.
Ingredients present in Aonori Slim
Unfortunately, we have no document (label or other) enabling us to clearly identify the ingredients in Aonori Slim capsules, or even their dosages.
So we’re relying on what the retailer tells us, which is that this supplement is made from aonori algae.
Aonori seaweed:
This seaweed is also known as ao nori (in Japanese), or sea hair.
It’s a green seaweed of the Ulvaceaes family.
In appearance, it consists of a bunch of long, thin emerald-green tubes, firmly anchored to the rocks.
It grows in many parts of the world, and is generally harvested in spring.
It is traditionally used dried, as a condiment, as it has a fine, tea-like flavor much appreciated by the Japanese.
Aonori seaweed is very rich in minerals (calcium, magnesium, lithium), vitamins (B2, B12, C), and folic acid in particular.
It is known to contain 6 times more calcium than milk, 30 times more iron than spinach, and 2 times more vitamin A than tomatoes.
Like other seaweeds, aonori has properties that can help you lose weight.
Rich in fiber, it promotes a feeling of satiety, helping to control calorie consumption.
It fortifies the body, boosts the immune system and activates toxin elimination.
With its comprehensive composition, it enables you to follow a diet without being subject to deficiencies.
Rich in iodine, seaweed activates metabolism and thermogenesis.

But is aonori algae as miraculous as France Direct Shop claims?
According to the retailer’s website, scientists have discovered a surprising phenomenon concerning the way this algae works, namely that “every night, it activates its metabolism to burn off all the excess nutrients it has absorbed during the day”?
What’s the truth behind these claims?
That’s what we propose to explore in our section on scientific data.
Aonori Slim and science
According to the retailer, the effectiveness of Aonori Slim is based on findings from a study carried out by British researchers at Newcastle University, who wanted to check whether the properties of aonori could be reproduced in humans.
According to the retailer, “Aonori algae possesses pancreatic enzymes that will “eat” 78 to 91% of the excess fat present in fat cells.
During our searches of referenced scientific study databases, we were able to find this 2014 study, which attempted to assess the modulation of pancreatic lipase activity by alginates.
Pancreatic lipase is an enzyme involved in lipid digestion.
Let’s start by defining what alginates are: according to wikipedia, alginates are polysaccharides obtained from a family of brown algae, the kelp or bladderwrack.
Our first observation is that this study compared the effects of Laminaria Hyperborea with those of Lessonia Nigrescens, two algae different from aonori.
To get an idea of the classifications of these algae, here are the respective files published on Wikipedia : Laminaria Hyperborea, Lessonia Nigrescens and Aonori (aka Enteromorphic).
Returning to our study, the researchers obtained results showing that alginates inhibited pancreatic lipase by up to 72.2% with a synthetic substrate (DGGR) and up to 58% with a natural substrate.
The same results confirm that the effects of Laminaria Hyperborea are significantly higher than those of Lessonia Nigrescens, proving that the inhibition is linked to the structure of the alginate.
According to the researchers in this study, alginates are effective inhibitors of pancreatic lipase and should be used more frequently in the food industry, since they reduce the absorption of dietary triglycerides and thus promote weight loss.
At this point, and having gone through the whole report of this study without finding a single mention of this miraculous aonori algae, we are entitled to ask ourselves what is the relationship between this study and aonori algae?

Side effects and contraindications
A priori, if Aonori Slim contains only aonori algae, no side effects are to be feared.
However, as with all seaweed, we feel it’s important to warn consumers about the potential adverse effects of iodine.
In excessively high doses, iodine can cause thyroid disorders. If in doubt, it’s best to consult a doctor before starting a seaweed-based treatment.
People suffering from thyroid disorders should avoid all iodized products.
Pregnant or breast-feeding women are also advised to avoid this type of product.
Testimonials from Aonori Slim users
Few testimonials exist for Aonori Slim slimming capsules, and we can only doubt their reliability.
However, the only positive reviews we’ve gathered show a weight loss of 3 to 4kg in the first month and 2 to 3kg in the second, a far cry from the 23kg promised by this product.

Aonori Slim is available in 3 formulas:

No information is given on the difference between these three cures. Presumably, the difference lies in the more concentrated dosage of the algae, but we’d like to have full information on this subject.
Nor do we know how long a bottle lasts, or how many capsules it contains.
France Direct Shop is offering a bottle for a 3-day course of treatment to enable its customers to test Aonori Slim free of charge.
According to them, after 3 days, you should already have lost 3 to 4 kg.
If not, you can return the unopened bottles within 30 days for a full refund.
Without going into the hidden clauses of this free trial offer, we think that losing this many kilos in such a short period of time can represent a real danger to your health!
Our opinion on Aonori Slim
The results of our investigation are clear: we reject Aonori Slim slimming pills without hesitation.
Unreliable retailer, lack of information about the manufacturer, exaggerated claims – these are just some of the points on which Aonori Slim fails to meet our criteria.

I’ve been taking these capsules for 21 days now and haven’t lost a single gram! What’s more, I’m very careful about what I eat, but I don’t follow a more drastic diet than the one I’ve been following since 2003, when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes?
It’s true that the advert in Rustica gave me the hope of losing a few kilos in 33 days, stupid me for not having consulted your advice!
So I can confirm that it’s a scam, just like all those other products (e.g. snail slime, which I haven’t tried, I prefer to eat it at parties!).
