KeikoSlim, or how to get a Geisha waist in 4 weeks!

KeikoSlim is a dietary supplement designed to help you lose between 6 and 8 kilos in the space of a week, without any change to your eating routine. Yes, without any intervention on your part, just take one capsule in the morning with a large glass of water, and you’ll get rid of those unwanted kilos, without any yo-yo effect. In any case, we’re simply reporting what the manufacturer (or seller) of this pill claims loud and clear.

It seems that the “Slim” affix theory is still being confirmed (we talked about it in this this article) and that “ambiguous” slimming products often play on names like these. Could KeikoSlim really be a miracle pill? Here’s what common sense tells us in any case.

KeikoSlim, or the return of the miracle pill?

Just by reading the name, you can guess that it has Asian origins. In fact, we’ve already seen Japanese teas with the same name, Keiko. Today, however, the story seems to focus on one particular facet of Japan’s mystical world: the Geishas.
You’ll recognize them, those beautiful women, hostesses or refined ladies-in-waiting found exclusively in Japan. We’d love to go into their mysterious history, but today we’re going to focus on just one thing: their waistline. According to the KeikoSlim website, their slim waistline is linked to an ancestral secret that they’ve been able to keep for a long time. Make no mistake, the makers of KeikoSlim aren’t going to tell you the secret, even if they do have it and put it in their pills!

With these pills, you can expect to lose at least 6 kilograms after taking them for a week. Yes, you read that right…

The promises of KeikoSlim

On a site whose domain name bears the name of the product itself, we come straight to a home page, on which there’s a testimonial. Apparently, a lady claims to have lost 24 kilos, in 4 weeks and with no effort whatsoever, thanks to “a Japanese friend” who allegedly recommended KeikoSlim to her.

“Kimiko”, the friend from Japan, told our other friend that she herself had already lost 12 kilos in 2 weeks. Her secret was an equally mysterious ancestral drink that geishas used to keep their figures slim. Are we to believe that KeikoSlim is made in Japan? We dug around in the website’s legal disclaimer and found that the company behind the product is called Biotula GmbH, based in Luzern, Switzerland. According to the company’s public information (declared activity), we believe it only deals with the marketing of this product.

According to the website, no matter how many kilos you want to lose, KeikoSlim will help you achieve the following:

• a minimum weight loss of 6 kilos per week ;
• the rapid disappearance of cellulite;
• an attractive, firm, flat stomach;
• a slim, attractive figure.

All this, without EVER FEELING HUNGRY, without dieting (strongly discouraged by the manufacturer), without sport, or even an effort of will!!! (Ah well…! Never heard of it…)

The ingredients of KeikoSlim

The recipe for this slimming pill remains a well-kept secret. It has long been used by women in Japan to help them stay slim, whatever their age.

KeikoSlim is composed mainly of natural plants, Japanese seaweed and Omega3. That’s all we’re entitled to know on this site, which may have a long text, but doesn’t really tell us what we want to know.

It then goes on to talk about the effect of this recipe, some ingredients of which prevent the storage of fat, while others chase it away with a liposuction effect.

Only, it’s liposuction that works internally. A comparison we’re going to have to take a closer look at…
Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure during which the practitioner “sucks” some 5 liters of liquefied fat from the body to be treated.

Question: where does the fat “liposuctioned” by KeikoSlim go? Inconsistency.

What’s more, we’re not given any detailed information about these ingredients (origin, dosages, titration, etc.).

Controversy surrounding KeikoSlim

In the light of the above, we decided to do a little more research to shed more light on this product. We came across two websites about it: one Dutch and one Spanish. Both websites deal with warnings against dubious products, and KeikoSlim appears on both websites, and not in good terms.

The first website calls into question the company behind the marketing of this pill. The latter is said to be operating in several Western European countries (and even in America and Asia), under different names.

The same website also refers to the second website which represents a consumer protection organization called FACUA. FACUA has called for a ban on the marketing of KeikoSlim not only in Spain, but also in Europe, as it allegedly contains thyroid and sex hormones.

Side effects and contraindications KeikoSlim

Apart from the lengthy testimonial from Kimiko’s friend, and a series of 6 questions/answers, arranged in the form of an interview under a portrait photo of a Chinese man in a tie, with no hint as to his identity, we have no other useful information.

We don’t know anything about the likely side effects, or who should/should not take this supplement.

We all know that we shouldn’t think of buying a product (and a dietary supplement at that) if we don’t know what it’s made of.
